Real weight loss isn't just about the food on your plate. It's about the thoughts in your head. Never underestimate the power of positive thinking and get pumped for a brand new day!

  1. Watch your language! Beat the defeatist attitude that has you saying things like, "I feel fat," or "I can never lose weight." Encourage yourself and you will encourage the people around you to cheer you on.
  2. Listen to you body. Rate your hunger on a scale of 1 to 10. If you can pay attention to your body's natural hunger cues, you'll have better control over what goes into your stomach.
  3. Set goals and stick to them. It's easier to go the distance if you can look back and see how far you've come.
  4. Reward yourself for behavior, not just weight loss. When you beat temptation or break an unhealthy habit, you've won a huge victory!
  5. Keep your eye on your goals, not someone else's. That stick-thin fashion model and that elite athlete with the six-pack abs haven't walked on your path. Don't take them on as role models. You can do this on your own!
