Walk Away the Weight If the notion of exercise leaves you cold, Covenant Health experts think you will warm up to walking. Walking is an easy and effective exercise that burns calories to help you lose weight. Missy Kane and fitness experts from the Covenant Weight Management Center have teamed up to offer Walk Away the Weight, a series of community walks to introduce fitness walking to people who are not regular exercisers or who are seeking to lose weight. The kick-off walk is set for Sat., May 17 at 9 a.m. at Knox County’s Get Outdoors festival at the World’s Fair Park. Participants will walk distances of 1 to 2 miles and staff will assist offering instructions along the way. The walk is free, and the first 50 people to register receive free pedometers.
